Taylor Swift was a rarity in pop: she is the sole celebrity who moved from the country to mainstream and then to be a global pop culture icon. Swift shed the country influences as if they were an additional layer of skin and revealed she was among the finest singers/songwriters from her generation. Swift could make the event personal and use it for her benefit. Swift's early tracks including the neotribute to Tim McGraw were a testament of her ability. But, her follow-up album Fearless from 2008 showed the songwriter finding her voice as well as a broader fan base. The album was hugely successful not only in the United States and six of the singles have been declared platinum, on top of Top Ten hit songs Love Story and Belong with Me. But the album also enjoyed a great reception across the globe. Swift soared to the top of the charts with Speak Now. In the three albums following the three albums that followed -- Red 2012 1989, Red 2012 along with Reputation 2017. Swift's success only grew. This was a sure indication that she was in a new pop world where she fit in. In the end, when she refocused her music by releasing stripped-down albums like 2020, folklore, and Evermore, she still remained in the top spot. It was a position that was confirmed with the re-recordings she had made from her earlier catalogue as along with Midnights which was her chart-topping synth heavy 2022 album.
